A scrawled sign on a farmhouse porch reads “2 Children for Sale,” capturing the desperation sweeping the country in 1931, during the Great Depression. Struggling reporter Ellis Reed’s photograph of the children leads to his big break, but the consequences are unimaginably devastating. Haunted by secrets of her own, newspaper secretary Lillian Palmer sees the image and is soon drawn into the fray. Together, Ellis and Lillian set out ot right a wrong and mend a fractured family, at the risk of everything they value.
