Our Mission
The mission statement of the Walnut Public Library District is to provide popular, high-interest materials in various formats that will meet the recreational, educational, and personal needs of the patrons in the community. Special emphasis will continue to be placed on supporting patrons at various stages of life.
All patrons’ interest and enjoyment in reading and writing will be a priority as well as more attention will be paid to continued development of the entire population served. Materials and programs shall be selected with regards to the varying age differences of the public to provide opportunities to stimulate everyone’s interests.
Our Staff

Jaclyn Trujillo
Director
Jaclyn was hired as Walnut Public Library Director in July of 2020. She has been a lifelong resident of Walnut and resides here with her husband Thomas and daughters. She attended Illinois Valley Community College and majored in Early Childhood Education. Jaclyn has prioritized grant writing, budgeting, and summer programming. She has been working towards revitalizing the library by offering programming geared towards children and adults. She has been focused on monthly activity workshops, storytime, and creating interactive activities and displays for young adults and families to enjoy.

Rebecca Fritz
Library Clerk
Rebecca has been a part of the Walnut Public Library staff since 2005. She is the friendly face you see at the front desk when you walk in, helping patrons with various needs, whether it be making copies, faxing, or finding their favorite authors. Rebecca also assists with many of the “behind the scene” happenings at the library, including designing and updating displays, completing interlibrary loans, or maintaining and repairing books. She is certified in cataloging and has taken many classes to further her knowledge of the library system.

Jennifer Butler
Program Coordinator
Jennifer has been a part of the Walnut Public Library staff since August 2021. Jennifer works diligently at planning and providing programs to our community. She also assists patrons as needed and has been a friendly face to our community members and a vital resource with the Walnut history collaboration project. Jennifer is actively involved within our village volunteering her time on multiple committees.
Our Board of Directors
