Connecting Local People with Local Food
November 14 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

- Whats Wrong with the grocery store?
The box stores don’t care about you or your family. They only care about profits. The system is built for corporations not for community. High prices for toxic food. Reliant on fragile global system - The food system is fragile.
Dominant agricultural traders (the “Big Five”) increasingly shift from physical trade to financial speculation- with up to 75% of their income tied to financial markets rather than physical distribution. By outsourcing all of our food to these giant corporations we gamble on them to provide for us. When we don’t matter to them at all. Not to even mention the global transportation industry or how toxic their food is grown on global scales - Benefits of local food
Higher nutrient retention, as soon as food is harvested it loses nutrients. Reduced contamination risks, Shorter supply chains mean fewer points of handling. Supports local family farms, keeping prosperity in our community and out of corporate hands - We have to start somewhere
I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I have some ideas, so join me and anyone else who wants change on
Saturday November 14th @ 10:00 a.m. at the Walnut Public Library: Let’s come together to get our local
community stable and thriving.
